Ken Rossy is a 29-year veteran in the corrosion control industry with experience specifying, selling and assisting with application of coating and paint systems in the industrial market and specifically in the petrochemical, refining, marine, food and transportation sectors. He has sold coatings, tape systems, fireproofing, insulation coatings, surface preparation products and coating related equipment. Rossy has sold these products as a manufacturer's representative, distributor and as a direct employee. Additionally, Rossy has managed a coatings application company. Currently, Rossy is Vice President of Sales and Marketing for HoldTight Solutions and serves on the Board of Directors for the Houston Coating Society. He is a member of NACE, SSPC and a Level 1 Certified CIP Inspector. Rossy holds a BBA in business from Baylor University and MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Tom Higginbotham is Training Manager, Americas for PPG Protective and Marine Coatings. He brings experience from various roles in the coating industry spanning a time of over 30 years. Tom manages a team of qualified, experienced training professionals in the Americas who train engineers, specifiers, end-users, and employees of varied types on a myriad of training topics. The primary goal of the Training Team is to create competent, professionals toward success in Protective and Marine Coatings.
Tom has contributed to and led many committees and task groups with the NACE organization. He is a NACE CIP instructor and holds certifications as a NACE – Certified Coating Inspector – Level 3, Certification (No. 16699), SSPC – Certified Concrete Coating Inspector (No. 46839), and NACE – Cathodic Protection Tester (No. 67377).
Mr. Browning has been involved in the paint and coatings industry for 28 years, including extensive hands on experience. By reason of Mr. Browning’s Industry background, experience, technical certification, and professional training acquired over the years, he is highly qualified to perform technical services associated with the application, specifying, consulting, training and failure analysis of paint and protective coating systems all types of substrates.
Mr. Browning also has extensive hands on experience in surface preparation, coatings application and has been certified in automotive, commercial fleet, aviation, marine and industrial coatings. He also is a member of multiple NACE STG & TEG standard committees, as well consulting with NACE in the past on developing Coatings Application Program and NIICAP Programs.
He has experience to conducting failure analyses including material and application failures on concrete, aluminum, galvanized and steel substrates and authorship of coating specifications, and application training videos. His project experience covers different types of structures including stainless steel, concrete, steel pipelines, scrubber units and steel tanks. His extensive experience involves design, installation, leadership all types of protective coating systems and project.
Russell Norris is an alumnus of Kilgore College, where he studied both Corrosion Technology and Business Administration. Russell has been engaged with NACE since 1994. He has achieved NACE certifications of Senior Corrosion Technologist, Protective Coating Specialist, Cathodic Protection Tester, and Certified Coatings Inspector-Peer Review. He also holds a certification with the Institute of Corrosion as Fireproofing Inspector Level 2. He has been engaged in the industry since 1990, when he launched his corrosion control career in the field of protective coatings with The Sherwin-Williams Paint Company. Russell has served in many key roles within The Sherwin-Williams Paint Company and has been the recipient of numerous awards over his 30-year career. In 2020, He was awarded the SSPC Richard W. Drisko Coatings Education Award for his contribution in developing the fireproofing applicator course. Russell Norris serves as the Sherwin-Williams FIRETEX Intumescent Coating Specialist for the Americas.
David Hunter is the Coatings Program Manager at Pond & Company, where he is also a principal of the company. He is a civil engineer with over 25 years of industry experience consulting in protective coatings, linings, composites and passive fire protection materials on over 5,500 structures, including bridges, water and fuel tanks, offshore platforms, ships, piers, commercial buildings and even an offshore lighthouse. Hunter's industry certifications include SSPC Protective Coatings Specialist, NACE Level 3 Coating Inspector, Cathodic Protection Technician, Offshore Corrosion Protection Technician and API 570Piping Inspector. He is an Instructor for both SSPC and NACE International, and has been published in magazines such as JPCL, Materials Performance, Corrosion & Materials, CoatingsPro and Inspectioneering.
Chuck Fite is the Project Development Manager for Florida and the Caribbean for the Protective and Marine Group of the Sherwin-Williams Company.
He has been in the protective coatings industry and at Sherwin-Williams for over 37 years. His first 8 years were spent in the lab developing epoxy, polyurethane and zinc rich coatings. The last 29 years have been in the field working with owners and engineers in the water and wastewater, power, bridge and oil and gas markets. Chuck is a Level 3 NACE Certified Coating Inspector (CIP #3062) with the Marine Endorsement.
Chuck is a member of SSPC, NACE, ASTM, ICRI, AWWA and the Florida Rural Water Association. Chuck is the Chairman of the TC35 ISO SC14 TAG Committee for coatings and is the Vice-Chairman of the NACE Coatings Council. He is also the Past Trustee for the NACE Central Florida Section. In 2017, he received a Distingusihed Service Award from NACE International. He holds a B.S. in Polymer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi.
